Neligan Foley LLP is one of an exclusive group of law
firms in the United States that have the real experience — not just
resumé rhetoric — to handle major business bankruptcies. The firm was
founded in 1995 by seasoned bankruptcy and litigation attorneys with
backgrounds at major national firms who believed then, as they do now,
that a law firm focusing on bankruptcy representation will provide the
most effective legal representation in any chapter 11 case. We offer
professionals with decades of high profile experience in managing major
bankruptcies and litigation in the Southwest and throughout the country.
Our
experience is broad-based. We have counseled on complex cases spanning
the manufacturing, telecom, oil and gas, steel, retail, and healthcare
industries. We have represented the debtor in perhaps the largest mass
tort-driven chapter 11 bankruptcy ever filed, involving billions of
dollars in claims, that involved a multi-year commitment of the firm.
We have represented a Chapter 11 trustee/receiver of a massive
multi-national bankruptcy estate with parallel proceedings in the
United States, the Cayman Islands and London. We have negotiated major
purchases of key operations and facilities of the debtor, both for the
estate and on behalf of our creditor clients, and have been involved in
all aspects of locating and negotiating new financing for our debtor
clients, both within a pending case and, often more importantly, as an
alternative to bankruptcy.
Our practice is national in scope.
Recently, we have had significant representations pending
simultaneously throughout Texas, and in New York, Michigan, South
Dakota, Louisiana and Delaware. In formal bankruptcy proceedings and
out-of-court restructurings, we have represented unsecured creditors'
committees, landlords, lenders, major shareholders and trustees in
addition to our extensive debtor practice.
We also handle on a
first-chair basis significant business litigation that is closely
related to bankruptcy matters. Over the past several years, the firm
has successfully handled several complex business and bankruptcy
litigation matters involving hundreds of millions of dollars in dispute
on both the plaintiff and defense side of the docket, in courts in
Texas and New York.
